4-H Vet Science Series for youth
LIBERTY, NY — All youth 13 years of age and up, with an interest in veterinary science, can engage in the 4-H Youth Development Veterinary Science program series beginning this summer. Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Sullivan County’s 4-H Youth Development program is offering this program on Tuesdays, July 8, July 22 and August 5, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center.
Local professionals in the veterinary medicine field will present this program. Participants will gain knowledge of vet science and animal husbandry techniques, including interpretation of animal behavioral signs, taking animal vitals, maintenance of animal health, overview of animal organ systems and an inside look at animal anatomy.
The series is free to children enrolled in 4-H. Cost to non-4-H youth is $5 for the entire series. Scholarships are available upon request for the first five registrants. Children ages five to 19 can become 4-H members at any time of the year. Pre-registration with non-refundable payment is required by July 1.
