Adam Weinreich

February 21, 2014

WJFF Radio Catskill announced on February 20 that Adam Weinreich will assume the role of General Manager and Development Director of the listener-supported, community radio station located in Jeffersonville, NY.

Weinreich has been with WJFF since 2009 when he moved to the area from Keene, New Hampshire, to serve as Assistant Station Manager. Since April, 2013, he has been acting as Interim Station Manager.

“In his years at WJFF, Adam has served in almost every capacity. It would be difficult to imagine a person more familiar with the workings of WJFF, more in tune with its mission, and more capable of leading the radio station into the future,” said Sonja Hedlund, president of the Board of Trustees.

“As Station Manager I will strive to uphold the station's mission, to strengthen and evolve our position in the community and on the air and to foster and grow relationships with our volunteers, our donors and the communities we serve,” said Weinreich in his letter of acceptance.

WJFF Radio Catskill, a not-for-profit educational organization which broadcasts at 90.5 FM, has the distinction of being America's only hydro-powered radio station. WJFF's programming is a mix of nationally syndicated shows from NPR, Pacifica, and other media outlets as well as volunteer-produced programming that is generated locally.

The format is diverse, ranging from news and public affairs to music of every genre from classical to jazz to hip-hop. Nearly 100 volunteers serve a wide range of roles at WJFF including all of the on-air voices. This month, WJFF celebrated its 24th anniversary of broadcasting to the Catskills, Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Upper Delaware Valley Region.
