Slam Allen’s ‘Day before Thanksgiving’

November 20, 2013

BETHEL, NY — Bluesman Slam Allen will perform at the Dancing Cat Saloon and Catskill Distilling Company’s “Day before Thanksgiving” show at the Distillery on Wednesday, November 27, starting at 8 p.m.

Monticello-born Allen, a consummate performer known for his singular ability to connect with his audiences, said in a 2011 interview with The River Reporter’s Jonathan Fox, “I think of my musical adventure as a journey, and I hope that I can take the audience with me as I continue to explore the musical heritage of the jazz and blues world that has been careening around the globe since the early 1900s. I like to think that I see things as they are and not through rose colored glasses. This journey is not just one of my musical roots, but a deeper, spiritual path that I have been on since I can remember.” The admission cost of $10 includes a chance in a raffle for Peace Vodka and late night snacks. Drink specials will be served all night. Call 845/583-3141 or visit www.catskilldistilling.com.ww.dancingcatsaloon.com.
