HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — The Liberty Free Theatre will present “Krapp’s Last Tape,” by Nobel Laureate Samuel Beckett, at the NACL Theatre for two performances only on Saturday, October 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 6 at 3 p.m. Paul Austin will be featured as Krapp.

Samuel Beckett was born in 1906 and died in 1989. His large output of plays, screenplays, poetry and fiction arguably provide the most telling chronicle of the existential spirit of 20th Century life. “Krapp’s Last Tape” is a masterful evocation of the conflict between the need for human intimacy and the drive to find a personal vision. Paul Austin is the founder and director of the Liberty Free Theatre. He has worked extensively all across the country as actor, director, writer and teacher. Mati has appeared throughout the tri-state area and co-hosted a series at Speakeasy in the West Village. She has been published in numerous magazines and in “cave-speak,” a chap-book collection of her poems. Mimi McGurl has directed in NYC and the Liberty Free Theatre and is a resident director at NACL, where she will direct “Will’s Sister” with Tannis Kowalchik.
The NACL Theatre is located at 110 Highland Lake Road in Highland Lake, NY. Call 845/557-0694.
