Farmers’ market nutrition vouchers available for eligible seniors

The Wayne County Area Agency on Aging will be administering the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program to eligible Wayne County Senior Citizens. This program is made possible through the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Food Distribution.
The Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program provides $20 in vouchers for eligible seniors to purchase fruits and vegetables at participating farmers’ market stands.
Eligible residents may apply at the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging office at 323 10th St. in Honesdale. Applicants must be 60 years old by December 30, must live in Wayne County and must have a gross income at or below $21,257 for single senior or below $28,694 for married couple.
To qualify, applicants must bring proof of age such as drivers license, birth certificate; and proof of Wayne County residence such as current utility bill with a street address.
