SHOHOLA, PA — Shohola Boy Scout Troop #76 recently participated in the 2013 Klondike Derby sponsored by the Delaware River District of the Boy Scouts of America. This year, the event was held at Thunder View Farms, Grahamsville, NY and the theme was “Down on the Farm.”

The course consisted of eight different stations including first aid, building a shelter, tree identification, fire building, bridge building and ice rescue.

To prepare for the event, Troop #76 built two different sleds, using strict specifications and guidelines provided by the district, prepped and loaded with materials and equipment needed to navigate the various stations. One team, the “Eagle Patrol,” finished 1.5 points away from first place. Visit www.shoholatroop76.scoutlander.com.
