‘Giving Tree’ provides Christmas gifts for children
December 6, 2012 —
NARROWSBURG, NY — The Giving Tree project, a traditional Christmas effort of the Tusten Volunteer Ambulance Auxiliary for over 20 years, is now underway at Peck’s Market, Kirk Road, where a tree bearing tags that list the age and gender of a child in the area may be found. Donors are asked to chose a tag and leave it with an unwrapped gift (maximum cost $10) at Peck’s before December 15. Volunteers will sort, wrap and arrange pickup of the gifts by Christmas to make the holidays happier for these children.
This project was carried out by Tusten Volunteer Ambulance Service crew members for over 20 years before time and training constraints inspired formation of the auxiliary to lend a hand.
