MONTICELLO, NY — The Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Waterpark, which is on schedule to open in early 2019, celebrated the completion of the structural phase of the project with a topping-off ceremony on February 16.

The gerrymandering fight in Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG, PA — On Feb. 13, Gov. Tom Wolf rejected the new congressional district maps submitted by Republcan leadership. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court will now draw up its own verrsion of the maps, if the Wolf and the Republicans don’t agree to a new map plan by Feb. 15.  That’s the latest move in the battle over the gerrymandered maps.

Eldred School Board appoints superintendent

ELDRED, NY — The Eldred School Board enthusiastically and unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. John Morgano as district superintendent at its February meeting. Morgano has served as Interim Superintendent since October 2017.

Cuomo pushes early voting

ALBANY, NY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo has advocated for early voting in the past, but this is the first time he’s suggeesting spending state money for it.  In an amendment to his proposed budget, Cuomo on February 12 added $7 million to the Fiscal Year 2019 Executive Budget to pay for early voting in every county in New York.
