MONTICELLO, NY — James Letohic, 32, of White Sulphur Springs, pleaded guilty to various charges on December 23, including robbery in the first degree and burglary in the second degree, both violent felonies. Sullivan County District Attorney Jim Farrell said Letohic is expected to be sentenced in Sullivan County Court to 11.5 years in state prison and fve years of post-release supervision.

Farrell said that Letohic admitted to robbing another man by threatening him with a knife and taking $800 from him in June of 2014 in the Town of Mamakating. The victim was not injured. Letohic also admitted to burglarizing an unoccupied residence on Red Hill Road in Mamakating on June 26, 2014, and stealing appliances and copper pipe from the residence.

Letohic was arrested on October 30, 2014, after an investigation by the New York State Police. Farrell said, “The sentence handed down today on this robbery and burglary underscores my commitment to holding individuals who engage in this type of behavior responsible and accountable for their actions with state prison sentences.”
