Narrowsburg School project launches as Narrowsburg Union

NARROWSBURG, NY - Today, Kathy and Brendan Weiden, owners of the former Narrowsburg Central School building, have announced the new name for the property.

The property will now be called "The Narrowsburg Union."

The goal of “The Narrowsburg Union” is to reimagine one of Narrowsburg's most iconic buildings as a multi-use commercial facility that builds on the existing strengths of the Upper Delaware River Valley region and communities, while providing an environment for new ideas to germinate and flourish.

The historic 1928 building is being updated into a 21st Century space designed to attract additional commercial and retail businesses to the town, as well as provide spaces suitable for meetings, conferences and education.

The Narrrowsburg Union will provide important resources and infrastructure in one unified facility. The renovated two-story building will offer state-of-the-art broadband Internet service and feature multi-purpose event spaces and a commercial kitchen. The flexible indoor and outdoor spaces are ideal for a variety of events ranging from business conferences to galas and seated dinners to cultural and community events.

“The re-imagining of this property became a passion project for Kathy and me since we began this journey two years ago,” says Brendan Weiden. “The community's love for this building continues to inspire us and we look forward to making The Narrowsburg Union a lively and integral part of the hamlet of Narrowsburg.”

Phase one of the renovation is underway and scheduled for completion in early 2016.
