MILFORD, PA — Michael Sullivan, executive director of the Pike County Economic Development Authority on September 2 announced the EDA’s upcoming annual dinner on September 30.

Speaking at the county commissioners’ meeting, he noted that Pike’s unemployment numbers have dropped from 12.6% to 6.2% in the past three years.

Sullivan said the dinner will celebrate the new and expanding businesses in the county and speak to “hurdles we need to overcome and how we plan to do it.”

He emphasized that the September 30 dinner, in addition to providing information to those directly involved in business development, will provide valuable information for anyone interested in the county’s economic future.

The EDA’s guest speaker at the dinner is former Pennsylvania state Sen. Michael Brubaker, who is CEO of Blackford Ventures, LLC. His topic will be “the role of venture capital and how it might be used in Pike County, PA.”
