BEACH LAKE, PA — Pennsylvania’s new chief forester will deliver the keynote address on April 26 as the Upper Delaware Council (UDC) renews its annual recognition of those who have enhanced the quality of life or protected the resources of the river valley at the council’s 27th annual banquet and awards ceremony.

Daniel A. Devlin, director of the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry, will speak at the Central House Family Resort, 81 Milanville Rd., at 5 p.m. prior to the awards presentation.

Devlin has oversight responsibility for the management of 2.2 million acres of state forest lands; forest fire management across the Commonwealth; forest insect and disease control and management; conservation of Pennsylvania’s native wild plants including the PA Natural Diversity Inventory; and promoting the conservation of all Pennsylvania’s forest land, both public and private.
