HARRISBURG, PA — Legislation to crack down on hunters who trespass on private property will be reintroduced in the upcoming legislative session by Sen. Rich Alloway. The legislation would authorize Pennsylvania Game Commission officers to enforce trespass laws and issue citations.
Currently property owners are required to report trespassing to local or state police.
Alloway said, “This is important for a lot of farmers and land owners. I want to make sure we have a pretty nice-sized stick for people over people who decide to trespass on people’s land without permission.”
The legislation also strengthens the trespass penalty from a summary offence of the fifth degree to a summary offence of the third degree.
