BEACH LAKE, PA — Berlin Township officials voted to give Cathy Hunt a salary increase after she had not had a raise since 2009. At the township meeting on March 18, supervisor Charles Gries and supervisors’ chair Paul Henry voted to increase Hunt’s salary from $350 to $375 per week.
Hunt is a township supervisor and also serves as the treasurer and secretary.
The issue was raised by auditor Linda Kelly, who said, “We know what we have and we appreciate what we have.” Kelly initially recommended that the salary be increased to $400, but one resident said she thought that was a bit high.
Hunt at one point said she agreed it was too high.
When Hunt was asked if her performance could be improved to be deserving of the increase, Henry interjected, “You can’t improve on perfection.”
Hunt abstained on the vote.
