Nilsa Lebron, age 56, of Honesdale was sentenced by President Judge Raymond L. Hamill to one to four years in state prison for conspiracy to possess marijuana with the intent to deliver. The conviction was the result of an investigation by the Wayne County Drug Task Force (WCDTF).

On April 25, the WCDTF, with the assistance of the Honesdale Borough Police and the Pennsylvania State Police, served a search warrant at Lebron’s apartment, located at 1111 Main St. in Honesdale. There they found numerous bags of marijuana, empty baggies and a digital scale.

Lebron admitted that she went to New York City by bus on a weekly basis where she would purchase a half pound of marijuana then return to Honesdale, where she would sell the marijuana in various quantities. Lebron had seven prior convictions in New York and New Jersey, of which six were drug related. Lebron had been living in Honesdale for approximately four months prior to her arrest.

Wayne County District Attorney Janine Edwards said “The investigation of Lebron was initiated as a result of the Honesdale Borough Police noticing unusually heavy foot traffic to Lebron’s apartment by high school students. The fact that someone would have the nerve to set up a drug operation on the main street of our community is inexplicable.”
