New York State Police at Liberty on September 30 announced the arrest of Kevin Lemma, age 22 of Holbrook, in connection with the robbery at the Jeff Bank in Eldred on September 24, 2013.
On that date, police say, Lemma entered the bank, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. He left the bank on foot and headed off into the woods.
Witnesses provided police with his description and a description of the vehicle he was operating. Leads were pursued in Sullivan County, Long Island and Pike County, PA.
With the assistance of the Pennsylvania State Police, Lemma was located and arrested in Pike County on Saturday, September 24. Lemma has been charged with robbery in the second degree. He is being held as a fugitive from justice in the Pike County Jail pending extradition proceedings.
New York State Police were assisted in the investigation by the Town of Highland constables, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, the Nassau County Police, and the Pennsylvania State Police.
