Grant for Sullivan airport

WASHINGTON, DC — Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced on September 9 that $63,810 in federal funding is being awarded to the Sullivan County International Airport to upgrade airport drainage in the terminal area and the Runway 33 safety area. The funding is allocated through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Improvement Program.

“This FAA investment will help make essential infrastructure upgrades at the Sullivan County Airport,” said Schumer. “By improving drainage and preventing erosion around the terminal and on the runway, Sullivan County Airport will keep flights running on time, improve service for residents, travelers and businesses, and clear the way for economic development in the region.”

“This is an important investment for the airport,” Gillibrand said. “Updating the airport’s drainage system can help provide better, safer service for travelers and businesses, and help strengthen the local economy.”
