JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — An overflow crowd of 110 registered Democrats attended the Town of Callicoon caucus on July 21 in the Jeffersonville town hall, and enthusiastically endorsed Nancy Lee for supervisor, and Ken Hilton and Van Morrow for town council. Republican Kris Scullion, the incumbent highway superintendent, was cross-endorsed by the Democrats.
Lee is a recently retired teacher and department administrator who previously served four years on the town board and five years on the planning board. Hilton is the former superintendent of the Sullivan West Central School District, and Morrow is a businessman in Livingston Manor.
Charlie Schadt, who has served on the town board for 33 years and who is currently the only Democrat on the board, but who almost always votes with the Republican majority, was not nominated by the committee, and earlier in the year declined to be interviewed by the committee.
