Pete Seeger to perform Milford benefit

Pete Seeger, together with R.J. Storm and Old School, will play at the Milford Theatre on Saturday, June 8 at 7 p.m. The concert will benefit the non-profit environmental group Air Soil Water whose mission is dedicated to advancing renewable energy sources through education.

Pete Seeger is a well known performer and activist who played a prominent role in the passage of the Clean Water Act in 1972, one of the most successful environmental laws in the country.

The idea for starting Air Soil Water came from Jolie DeFeis, who led the Save Cummins Hill fight against Tennessee Gas Pipeline. “We wanted something positive to come from the community effort we put forth during the past year, and we know that education is the key to empowerment and change. Our goal is to develop social, business and environmental programs that will increase the understanding of alternate energy sources that move us beyond fossil fuels. There is an incredible pool of experts already lined up and the group welcomes anyone who would like to be involved.”

Tickets are $30 and will go on sale Earth Day (April 22nd). You can purchase them online at airsoilwater.org and in person at Phoenix East (322 Broad Street) or Upriver Home (202 Broad Street) in Milford, PA.
