According to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office a marijuana growing operation neat Swan Lake has been shut down.

On March 8 at about 12 noon a Bethel constable was investigating suspicious footprints in the snow near an unoccupied seasonal dwelling in Swan Lake when he came upon a strong odor of marijuana emanating from a residence located at 108 Hurd and Parks Road.

Detectives from the sheriff’s office responded to the scene and interviewed the occupant, Kenneth J. Frank, age 57. Frank admitted that he was running a marijuana growing operation out of the home. Deputies seized 72 plants in various stages of growth and charged Frank with felony criminal possession of marijuana and unlawfully growing cannabis.

Frank was booked and then released on his own recognizance pending a future appearance in the Town of Bethel Justice Court.
