The Wayne County Commissioners at their meeting on January 31 recognized contributions made by Juliann Doyle. The Pennsylvania Counties Risk Pool (PCoRP) honored Doyle for her notable work in the Human Service Department, for “reporting and information gathering for property and liability incidents.” Upon acceptance of the award, she acknowledged the work of all the staff who contribute to the making of a successful department. “Doyle is a ray of sunshine and a wonderful example of what the county has to offer,” said commissioner Jonathan Fritz.

Also, correspondence was received by the Victims Intervention Program from a woman thanking them for the assistance that she received. t has helped her and her child when they were in need, she said.

Employment changes were also announced. Alfred G. Howell, once a public defender, has now moved up the ranks to part-time assistant district attorney. Janine Edwards, who recommended the promotion, said that he would be a strong asset to the office. The commissioners approved it and the change went into effect February 4.

Nicholas Sanseverino moved from Children and Youth Services Caseworker I to Caseworker II, effective February 4.

Carrieann Marritt was appointed as clerk in the adult probation office effective February 4.

Welcomed to the field of part-time correction officers were Nicholas Wilczewski and Timothy Medric, effective February 19.

In other news, a PCoRP Loss Prevention Grant Application was approved by the commissioners. This matching grant would cover non-workers compensation insurance. Another grant that was also approved would go to cover the costs of three automated external defibrillator machines and to repair loose stonework in front of the courthouse.
