Electric vehicle conversions?

A typical midsized gas-powered car gets 24 miles to the gallon. The typical Prius model gets 47 miles to the gallon, but the couple’s plug-in model gets 105 miles to the gallon, he said. The average yearly consumption of gas for the gas-powered car is 542 gallons, for the Prius it’s 280 gallons a year, while the plug-in Prius consumes only 124 gallons a year. The couple found that the number of yearly trips to the gas station was 10 compared to 32 for the gas-powered car and 23 for the typical Prius.

“If any of you are interested in electric vehicle conversion, please let us know or if you know of others who would have such an interest,” said Michele Sand, SEEDS co-founder. “We will be interested in holding training if we thought many would do it.”

SEEDS can be reached at 570/224-0054, or the SEEDS new office at 1023 Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431, 570/630-0592.
