UPPER DELAWARE VALLEY — The unseasonal blast of warm air that had temperatures rising enough to blanket many areas with fog is behind us, and more typical winter temperatures are upon us. What will the future bring regarding temperature and precipitation?

The forecast for the region put forward by the National Weather Service (NWS), says that temperatures have an equal chance of being above average, below average or average during January, February and March. In Monticello during that three-month period, there is a 99% chance that the average temperature will fall between 18.9 and 33.9 degrees Fahrenheit. NWS predicts, however, that as we approach the summer months, there is a better chance of temperature being above average than below average in the region.
