Compressor station foes hail new report; prominent engineer calls for project rejection

Children in the Town of Minisink on October 31 protest the compressor station being built across the street.

FERC is currently considering a rehearing on the permits for the Minisink project, but while the agency considers the matter, the pipeline company is allowed to move forward with construction. If FERC denies the rehearing, StopMCS will be able to move forward with a federal lawsuit against the company and FERC, and members of StopMCS have accused FERC of dragging its feet on the matter.

Two of the five commissioners opposed the project.
