With the arrival of Santa Claus in various locales throughout the region, including the James Dworetsky Holiday Parade in Jeffersonville, NY on November 23 and the Santa Parade in Honesdale, PA on the same night, the holiday season has officially arrived in the Upper Delaware Valley.
The parade in Honesdale, with Santa bringing up the rear, proceeded up Main Street to 10th, where it took a turn for Central Park. There, the people were serenaded by members of the Choralaires, as part of the traditional tree-lighting ceremony, and then children visited with St. Nick.
The scene in Jeffersonville was similar, with lots of floats decked out in the colorful lights that go with the season. Several fire companies took part in the festivities including trucks from Kauneonga Lake, Youngsville, Eldred and Callicoon.
