SUNY Sullivan’s 2012-2013 Workforce Development grant funds are now available. The maximum award available is $50,000.

Funding criteria give first priority to businesses that are newly relocated to New York State, business start-ups, businesses that are expanding their operations, and/or employers creating new jobs.

The grants pay up to 90% of the direct costs of training, and the employer must contribute at least 25% of the total project cost in matching funds. At least 10% of that must be in the form of cash, while the remaining 15% may be comprised of in-kind commitments. Employers must also be able to document the benefits and impact of training upon completion of the project.

Eligible projects may be scheduled to begin on October 1, and must conclude by August 5, 2013. All proposals must be postmarked by the deadline of Friday, September 5. Email smitchell@sunysullivan.edu or call 845/434-5750, ext. 4337.
