Lumberland looks at volunteer retirement, rejects road rally


Following a public hearing, the town board also passed resolutions approving alteration of the Lumberland Fire Protection District and extension of the Smallwood-Mongaup Fire District in relation to the Chapin Lumberland Residential Subdivision.

A Conservative Party primary election will be held at the town hall from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on September 13, and the Eldred Central School tax collector will be in the Lumberland municipal building on September 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon to collect school taxes. The town also read proclamations honoring the 21st anniversary of Ukrainian Independence, as well as town resident Carl Hentschel’s 105th birthday.
