BEACH LAKE, PA — The Wayne Memorial Health System (WMHS) will close Wayne Delaware Manor, a personal care residence located close to the Pennsylvania side of the Narrowsburg bridge, on July 31. The decision was made due to ongoing financial losses.
The facility currently houses 21 residents, and employs 16 staff members. WMHS says it will help relocate residents, driving them to new facilities and helping them to fill out any paperwork. WMHS also says that it will help find positions for the current employees, most of which can be placed elsewhere within the WMHS system.
The building was a Methodist church before being purchased by WMHS in 1999. WMHS will attempt to sell the building to a buyer who will maintain the facility as a nursing home.
