Nominations for the Upper Delaware Council (UDC) annual awards are due by March 19. The ceremony will be held on April 22 at The Carriage House in Barryville.

Nine award categories are available, in addition to the Oaken Gavel Award traditionally given by the Council to the past year’s chairperson. Nomination forms are available at www.upperdelawarecouncil.org or by calling 845/252-3022.

Categories include the Distinguished Service Award, given to that individual who acted with distinction in support of the goals and objectives of the River Management Plan (RMP); the Robin M. Daniels Memorial Lifesaving Award; the Community Service Award, given to an individual, community, or other entity that took action to protect the river corridor; the Outstanding Community Achievement Award, given to a municipality to recognize significant action to protect the river corridor; the Partnership Award, given to a government agency or regional entity instituting new programs or policies in support of the RMP; the Volunteer Award, given to an individual or organization that contributed time and energy to enhance or protect the river corridor; and Awards of Recognition, given to those individuals who have made substantial efforts to improve the quality of life and conserve the resources of the Upper Delaware River Valley.
