Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is number 15 on Pollstar Magazine’s Top 100 Worldwide Amphitheaters for the 2011 season. The venue has climbed in its ranking each year since opening in 2006, and surpassed several major market venues in 2011 including Jones Beach, PNC Arts Center and Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
“This is a magnificent milestone for Sullivan County and a testament to what a community can achieve by working together,” said Alan Gerry, Bethel Woods Founder and Chairman of the Board.
Darlene Fedun, the center’s Chief Executive Officer, added, “We are grateful to all of our audiences, donors, performers, volunteers, partners and employees who contributed to this defining moment in our continuing successful story.”
A total of 187,201 guests attended performances at Bethel Woods during the 2011 season, which featured artists such as Sir Elton John, Phish and Tim McGraw.
