With the threat of Hurricane Irene this weekend, Sullivan County Manager David P. Fanslau urges Sullivan County residents to take precautions and prepare for this hurricane coastal storm. County Manager Fanslau issued the following statement: The National Weather Service issued a statement that noted, “Impacts from Hurricane Irene are likely from Saturday night into Sunday night. Heavy rain causing flooding and strong winds will likely begin as early as Saturday night

The New York Pops concert scheduled for Sunday, August 28 has been cancelled. Ticket holders will receive automatic refunds on their credit cards. Cash purchasers need to return tickets to point-of-purchase for refunds or call Ticketmaster customer service at 800-653-8000.

The Wine Festival at Bethel Woods scheduled for Sunday, August 28 has been postponed to Saturday, October 1. All current Wine Festival ticket holders are asked to keep their tickets which will be honored on the new date of October 1. Tickets are still available for purchase in advance or can be purchased at the door.

The Museum at Bethel Woods will also be closed on August 28.

The Bethel School Open House scheduled for Sunday 1-4 pm has been cancelled due to the anticipated inclement weather. Next summer's open house dates and special presentations will be announced in the spring.

The Blooming Grove Fire Departmment has cancelled the pancake breakfast scheduled for Sunday.

Hortonville Fire Department has cancelled the Annual Field Day Scheduled for Sunday.
