Diggin’ the plants in Eldred

A gardener since she was a child, Karol Sundholm has a plot, and she calls the garden “fabulous,” and a great thing for the community. Sundholm is growing tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, onions and snap peas. Soon though, she intends on adding cucumbers and string beans. Sundholm has donated lilies and begonias to the garden, and has had a large role in maintaining the centerpiece. She says she is ready for people to get their plots going so the garden can become “more colorful.”

There are solar lights, with more soon to be placed around the garden. Monteleone says the gate is always open and people are “Welcome to come in, take a look, read a book, have a snack and enjoy the sun.”
