HAWLEY, PA — The Chamber of Commerce for the Northern Poconos has announced that Wally Ice Fest has been scheduled for January 29, 2017 with an alternate date of February 26.

The 25th annual Ice Tee Golf Tournament on frozen Lake Wallenpaupack is part of the festival, which the chamber calls a “weekend of sporting fun.” Attendees will be able to play nine holes of golf on two tree-lined courses during the tournament, and participate in the Closest to Wally Driving Contest.

The Inaugural Pocono Pond Hockey Tournament will also take place during the weekend, and the Paupack Plunge will be on Saturday.

There will be prizes for the person with the wackiest hat and craziest sled.

Sculpted Ice Works/Crystal Cabin Fever will provide ice sculptures. People can register for the event by visiting www.northernpoconoschamber.com.

The chamber is also seeking sponsors for the new hockey event.
