BLOOMINGBURG, NY — Police agencies in at least four states are looking for a couple who reportedly invaded a home in Bloomingburg and left the home owner with a head injury that required hospitalization.

According to police the couple, Jarret Cole Heitmann, 24, and Makayla Danielle Stilwell, 22, were seen at a Walmart store in Westfall Township, PA on  June 24, the day of the break in.

According to the New York State Police, officers are currently searching for the two fugitives from Tennessee. Heitmann is six feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds brown hair and has hazel eyes. Makayla Danielle Stilwell, five feet nine inches tall, weighs 145 pounds, and has brown hair and green eyes. Both are wanted in connection with a crime they allegedly committed there.

Police consider the couple to be armed and dangerous, but according to a press release from June 26, “State police are trying to determine if the fugitives… were involved in the home invasion. No determination has been made.”

The couple is wanted in Tennessee for charges including kidnapping and attempted murder. According to news outlets in Tennessee, the couple kidnapped a woman to use as bait. The kidnapped woman was forced at gunpoint to knock on the door of 34-year-old Dustin Bishop’s mobile home.

According to a police report, Heitmann shot Bishop in the chest in his front yard, and the couple then fled. Bishop remains hospitalized.

Heitmann and Stillwell are also accused of breaking into the home of the kidnapped woman and assaulting her in her home.

The couple have handguns in their possession and also possibly an AR-15 rifle.

New York State Police ask the public to report any information to the state police in Middletown at 845/344-5300.
