I am so overwhelmed by all the well wishes, cards, emails, and phone calls about my ear. I went to the ENT, who said that I have a deviated septum and a sinus infection. I am on antibiotics for the next two weeks and then, another CAT scan.  The antibiotics are killing my stomach, not to mention other parts of my body—the only good thing is I lost 6 lbs. Thank God toilet paper was on sale. I do not like yogurt, so I am taking probiotics pills. On Saturday, I was a Bee at the Narrowsburg Honey Bee Festival. It was a fun day and I won the 50/50 from the Narrowsburg Beautification Group.  When I got home and opened my mail, I got a $25 gift certificate for Kohler Lumber in Jeffersonville for the Duck Race that I took tickets for. Thank you, Jack Castello, for selling them to me.

The Cochecton Preservation Society wish to thank Ann O'Hara of the Wayne County Historical Society and Sullivan County Historian, John Conway for an excellent presentation on the Civil War and our towns and heroes. Sincere thanks to all who attended plus the members who helped to set up and baked wonderful desserts! Stay tuned for next spring—we promise to have entertaining history! The next CPS meeting will be on Tuesday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at the Cochecton Town Hall Community Room due to chilly weather.

Cochecton Youth Commission Day at Roba Family Farms

On Saturday Oct. 14 at Dalton, PA, the park is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The CYC will have a campsite reserved for our group. The package includes almost anything you can think of to do at Roba's. Other children welcome to join us at regular price. Adult cost is $15.95, and tickets can be purchased upon arrival at the farm. Call Kristin with any questions at 570/470-1741.

Cochecton Youth Commission Tricky Trunk

The Tricky Trunk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, mid-morning at Pirate ShipPplayground next to the Cochecton Town Hall. This event is for Cochecton Youth only. Call Michelle with any questions about the festival at 570/419-8801. Final Sign ups will be held on October 3 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Town Hall. (CYC youth must be signed up to participate!)

Lake Huntington Fire Co would like to thank everyone who came out to support their pancake breakfast fundraiser for James “Burly” Burlingame.

On Saturday October 21, the ladies at the Lake Hunting Presbyterian Church are hosting a Penny Social. More info to follow.
