I went down to Queens to help my sister Maryanne celebrate her 64th birthday on Monday July 31st.  She has a hard time on her birthday—she always celebrated it with our parents. My Dad and Mom were both born on the same day, August 1. I wanted to do something special for her, but no planes, trains or packing. So I took her to Long Beach, Long Island, where we spent every summer as kids. My dad would rent a bungalow from Memorial Day to Labor Day for us kids. We had the best time, walking the boardwalk and trying to find all the different bungalows and remembering stories, laughing and crying, missing our parents. We walked around the streets and had dinner in a great Italian restaurant we really had a great time. I also stopped by to visit Father Bill. He is doing good, holding his own. Father Bill has a visitor: a therapy dog named Lily. Lily is a 150lb “small” Newfoundland dog who has 16 boxes of outfits. Today, visiting Father Bill, she was dressed as an angel.

The Women’s Community Club of Cochecton will have its annual dinner as LUNCH on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Matson’s in Cochecton (the former Ruff Cut) at 1:00 p.m. You will each be ordering your own food off the menu. Members and all women of the town are invited. Spouses, former members, and the families of departed members are also welcome, as we plan to pay tribute to those members who have passed on. Please let one of the officers (Judy, Nancy, or Pam) know by August 10th if you plan to attend, so they have an idea of how many people to expect.

On August 31, 2017 at 4pm, Heinle’s General Store will be having a NYS Certified Concealed Safety Handgun class. Pistol Permit class is $40 per person. Please call 845/252-3354 for more information.

Keep smiling and have a great week! You can email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news. It would be great if you can get me your information by Friday.
