Just got back from Florida again. This time I went down to buy a house in Winter Garden, right by Disney World. I was going to see the house on Thursday the 6th, sign the contract and have the inspection. Little did I know that they sold the house from under me on Wednesday.

I was asking Tommy to give me a sign if I was doing the right thing. After I got off the plane in Florida, I was on line in the ladies room and the girl in front of me turned around and half of her tattoo, which was over heart was showing. It said “3/22.” I said to myself, “Oh my God, that’s the day Tommy died.” I told her that was the day my husband died, and took out my phone to take a picture. I asked her if I could see the rest of her tattoo. It was a heart that said, “Forever in my heart 3/22/1989.” It was the day her mom, dad and brother all died in a car accident. How freaky is that? But I guess it was a sign from Tommy that he was with me and I will be OK. So I was in Florida May, June and July. In August, I think I will go somewhere else.

The Cochecton Democratic Club would like to thank everyone who donated and took the time to set and help with its penny social at the Lake Huntington Pizzeria Restaurant. I big “thank you” to George and Linda Blaso for letting us use their hall. Doors opened at 1 p.m., calling was at 2 p.m. and we were having refreshments by 3 p.m.—it went fast. I was the caller and Dr. Paul Salzberg and Larry Richardson were the shakers, and we had six runners. It was a fun day and a success.

On Saturday, July 15, the Lake Huntington Fire Co. is hosting a  yummy chicken barbeque. It includes half a chicken, potato salad, baked beans, cranberry sauce, a roll with butter and dessert.

To get a ticket or 10 call RuthAnn at 845/932-8514. If Ed picks up, tell him I said “hi.” You can always see a fireman for tickets also.

Remember to check out The New Cochecton Youth Commission Facebook page for upcoming events.

Please keep the Ackerman family in your thoughts and prayers on the passing of their mom, Gloria Ackerman. May she rest in peace.

Keep smiling and have a great week. Email leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have news. It would be great if you get me you your information by Friday.
