Another trip to the ER, this time for my throat, Thank God it was not strep; just the start of a nasty cold. Yes, I had been resting and drinking plenty of fluids. I know so many who have this cold, and they say it’s a bad one. I am still on antibiotic till Wednesday, then Friday another CAT scan and back to the ear, nose and throat doctors on Tuesday for my mastoiditis. Besides that I feel great keeping busy and loving life.

The next meeting of the Lake Huntington Lake Association at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 7 at The Nutshell. The primary business will be electing eight members to the board of directors.

The Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid of Lake Huntington will hold a penny social on October 21. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and calling begins at 12:30 p.m. Hot dogs, sauerkraut, soda and water for sale. Cake and coffee will be served after the calling. Please make sure all donations are at the church by 12 noon on Thursday, October 19. Do not bring clothing or shoes. For more information call Grace at 570/729-8247.

I have been asked if I know what is going on with The Lake Huntington Automotive Services, Inc. It’s not closing; it’s doesn’t have new owners; it’s not going to be a NAPA store. I called owners Brett and Kristin Lockwood, and I was told the station is getting a facelift: a fresh coat of paint, new garage doors, a nice new look, same quality work and friendly service. They still rent U-haul trucks and are still a New York State inspection station. Give them a call at 845/932-8267.

On Saturday, October 28 there will be a Halloween party at The Nutshell starting at 9 p.m. There will be music from Maus Music Entertainment, karaoke prizes, a costume contest and drink specials. For more information call The Nutshell 845/932-5024 or Chris at 845/423-8544.

Keep smiling, have a great week and email leenie beans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have news. You can always check me out at riverreporter.com in Community Living.
