Time to reform milk pricing rules
Once a proper, functioning USDA milk price formula is established, the role for the U.S. Federal Government should be limited to being a referee, ensuring a level economic playing field among U.S. dairy farmers, processors and retailers. It is high time to move America’s patient and well deserving dairy farm families from the economic chaos fostered by the current USDA milk price formula to a predictable and stable financial state. Only a full restructuring of U.S. dairy policy can accomplish this.
