Pontier right on the Pond Eddy Bridge

My husband and I were so happy to read Glenn Pontier’s resignation letter in the March 29 issue of The River Reporter. We have been thinking all along that it is not the respobnsibility of New York taxpayers to insure that Pennsylvania residents have emergency services available. It seems to us that the state of Pennsylvania should be burdened with the problem of finding a way to get services to these residents, and we both thought a road was one obvious solution.

In his letter, Pontier mentioned the possibility of three roads that could be lengthened. These suggestions should be forwarded to the government of Pike County. It seems the only reason for a person on the New York side of the Pond Eddy Bridge to cross it would be to visit these few residents. So make them accessible by road. Brilliant!
