HONESDALE -- Private Gary Gillow, Sr., with the New York 143rd (a Civil War reenactment unit) out of Liberty explains the operation of his 1861 Springfield muzzle loader to World War II veteran Michael Gibbons of Honesdale. Gibbons recalls, "I went through it all, the entire European campaign. I was a Blue Spader in the 26th Infantry. It was a long time ago, but you never forget."

For a complete listing of services and parades commemorating Memorial Day, see page 2 or the "Where and When" section in Things Are Happening.
