Grand jury investigating Shohola official

Inquiry speculated to stem from zoning work

MILFORD, PA—The former Shohola Township Zoning Officer is being investigated by a grand jury in Pike County. Donald Wall, who is the township’s current fire chief, was removed from office in March 2010 by supervisor George Fluhr Jr.

Fluhr’s comment when he and fellow supervisor Greg Hoeper agreed to remove him was simply, “It’s time for a change.”

Nelia Wall, who is also a township supervisor, dissented from the vote, during which she was also removed from her position as the township secretary and treasurer.

Nelia has not been subpoenaed by the grand jury.

MILFORD, PA—Since incumbent Democrat Karl Wagner will be the only candidate for commissioner for his party this year, he will be unchallenged in the primary and the general election.

For the Republicans, however, there are three candidates to fill two positions: incumbent Rich Caridi and challengers Pam Lutfy and Matt Osterberg.
