LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY—Snow swirls and chilly winds remind us that winter is here. But aside from the skiers who will soon brave the frosty slopes at Holiday Mountain and Belleayre, winter sports take place in steamy gyms and field houses. In those warm confines, basketball and indoor track now light the early season fires that will rage as sectional conflagrations come February. Here’s the skinny on what took place this past week. Wrestling will bring its own heat, more on that in weeks to come.
