WANDA BALDWIN
Wanda Baldwin of Middletown, NY died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at her residence. She was 91.
Wanda was born in Campbell Hall, NY on October 21, 1919, the daughter of Sidney and Hilda Herbert. She was the widow of John Baldwin.
She was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church of Hamptonburg, NY and retired from Sears in Middletown.
Wandas journal reads, in part: I have lived a long and happy life, so when the time comes, be happy with all our good memories. I loved my family, loved baking cookies to give to family and friends, and feeding and watching the birds. She was loved by all her family and friends and we miss her greatly.
Wanda is survived by her children, John L. Baldwin of Greenfield Park, NY and Arlene and husband Bill Potter of Callicoon Center, NY; grandchildren Brett Baldwin of Middletown, Shondelle and husband Henry Luba of Greenfield Park, NY, Tonya M. Baldwin of Fishkill, NY, Sabrina Baldwin of Newburgh, NY; daughter-in-law Betty Baldwin; step grandchildren, Arthur Rosescher and wife Eleanor of Middletown, Todd Rosescher and wife Barbara of Goshen, NY and Matthew Potter and wife Heather of Walden, NY; great grandchildren Tyler and Ashley Baldwin and Henry Luba IV; great step grandchildren Justin, Austin, Cody, Crystal, T.J. and Raquel Roescher, Raymond Stalley II, Logan and Lillian Potter and Kylie Renz, Allan Michael and Georgia Baldwin; several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her son, Russell L. Baldwin.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 4, at Morse Funeral Home Inc., Middletown, with Gary Fox officiating. Following cremation, burial was in Hamptonburgh Cemetery.

DELOS HERBERT BROOKS
Delos Herbert Brooks, of Jeffersonville, NY, died Friday, December 3, 2010 at Catskill Regional Hospital, Callicoon Division. He was 80.
The son of Herbert and Dorothy Eichenberg Brooks, he was born in Ellenville, NY on September 19, 1930. He was married to Dorothy Stephenson Brooks.
He was the retired owner of Delos Brooks Excavation and a retired dairy farmer.
Delos was a 50-year member of the Stony Brook Hunting Club; a member of the Sullivan County Beekeepers Association, and the Cornell Extension Service of Sullivan County. A family statement reads: Delos was a beloved father who loved his family, the outdoors, his garden, his friends, hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife at home; son Michael Brooks of Jeffersonville; daughter Michele Probert and husband Wayne of Loxahatchee, FL; son Mark Brooks of Jeffersonville; granddaughter Morganne Brooks of Jeffersonville; and many cousins.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 6 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville with Reverend Kenneth Rodgers officiating. Burial was in Kenoza Lake Cemetery, Kenoza Lake, NY.

BARBARA FOX
Barbara Joan Fox (nee Fein) of Delray Beach, Fl passed away on November 21, 2010 after a long illness. She was 79.
She was a longtime resident of Binghamton, NY.
She is survived by her loving son Jonathan Fox of Monticello, NY; daughter Vicki Fox-Smith of Red Deer, Canada; grandson Harley Weiselthier; brother Sidney Fein of Boynton Beach, FL; and nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents Mack and Fay Fein; her husband Matthew Fox, owner of Callan-Major Jewelers; and second husband Mitchell Friedman, Norwich, NY.

ELIZABETH BETTY GETZ
Elizabeth Betty Getz of Eldred, NY died Monday, November 29, 2010 at Catskill Regional Medical Ctr., Harris, NY. She was 81.
She was born June 5, 1929 in Eldred, the daughter of the late Charles and Lena Hill MacIntyre. Betty married Edgar Getz who predeceased her on October 10, 2010.
Betty owned and operated Bettys Beauty Shop in Eldred and was a member of the Eldred Congregational Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Schadt of Glen Spey, NY; grandchildren Rebecca, Angie, Sebastian and Cristian; sisters Evelyn Livingston and husband Joseph of Eldred and Esther Peggy Gothard and husband William of Stroudsburg, PA; sisters-in-law Isabel Strenglein and Eleanor Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her son, Edgar F. Getz, Jr.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Montoza Cemetery, Eldred, NY.

BERYLE B. BAER HERMAN SR
Beryle B. Baer Herman Sr. passed away on Monday December 6, 2010 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was 87.
The son of Franklin and Lillian (Rubin) Herman, he was born September 15, 1923 in Port Jervis. He was married to Roberta (Gourley) Herman in 1942 who predeceased him in 2008.
He was the owner of Safeway Service Center in Montague, NJ. Mr. Herman was a U.S. Army World War II veteran who received the Bronze Star and a Presidential Citation with oak leaf cluster.
Survivors include his three children, Frank Herman of Montague, NJ, Roberta Kolberg of Valdosta, GA and Sherri Barnes of Yulan, NY; sister Helen Goldberg of Bethesda, MD; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is also predeceased by daughters Bette Woodruff and Jean Herman; sons Beryle Herman Jr., Larry Herman, Keith Herman and Paul Herman; and one brother, Edward Herman.
Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, PA on Thursday, December 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 10 at Stroyan Funeral Home with Rev. Angelo Forleo officiating.
Burial will take place at the Montague Cemetery, Montague, NJ.
ARLENE K. KUEN
Arlene K. Kuen of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Barryville, NY, died on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Winter Haven hospital. She was 84.
The youngest daughter of Edward and Kathryn Livingstone Kuen, she was born in Shohola, PA on February 23, 1926.
She lived for 45 years in Manhattan, where she was an owner-operator of a beauty parlor in Queens. Upon retirement she lived in Barryville, then moved in with her niece in Winter Haven, Fl.
She is survived by nieces and nephews Charles Sergeant of Riverside, NJ, Mauna Krumm of Cinnaminson, NJ, Dale Smith of W. Berlin, NJ, Jean Marino of Forestburg, NY, Sandra McBride of Winter Haven and Laura Batzel of Port Jervis, NY.
She is predeceased by her parents; sisters Dorothy Smith, Clareta Sergeant, Helen Sergeant and Hazel Anastasio; brother Arthur Kuen; and niece Linda Houlihan.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
CYNTHIA K. MACIEJEWSKI
Cynthia K. Maciejewski, of Honesdale, PA died Friday, December 3, 2010 at the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at CMC in Scranton, PA. She was 48.
She is survived by her soulmate of 25 years, Robert Schaeffer of Beach Lake, PA.
Born March 12, 1962 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Stasia Washeleski Maciejewski.
She was a graduate of St. Rose High School in Carbondale and later moved to Washington, DC and was a secretary for the Office of the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. After returning to Honesdale, she worked at Turano Nationwide Insurance and at Dedeco International Inc. in Long Eddy, NY.
She attended St. Bernards Roman Catholic Church in Beach Lake. Cynthia enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, camping and music festivals. She collected gnomes and painted them for friends and neighbors.
Also surviving are brothers John Maciejewski and wife Anita and Joseph Maciejewski and wife Sandra, all of Damascus, PA, and Kenneth Maciejewski and wife Marie of Clifford, PA; sister Anastasia Pascoe and husband Clem of Archbald, PA; aunt Adella Kuna of Carbondale; sister-in-law Yvonne Schaeffer of Milanville, PA; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cremation was held at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 9 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Honesdale. Private interment will be in Milanville Cemetery.

VIRGINIA R. MITCHELL
Virginia R. Mitchell of Smallwood, NY, a homemaker, died on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was 74.
Virginia was born on July 24, 1936 in Ord, NB to the late Chester and Marie Hackett.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin Hoerauf and companion Debbie Barnes of Narrowsburg, NY and Willie John Quinones Jr. and companion Nancy Ramos of NYC; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by daughters Kendra Carpenter and Vanessa Quinones.
Graveside funeral services were held at Evergreen Cemetery, Bethel, NY on December 2. Rev. Kenneth Rodgers officiated.
PAUL G. ZIMMERMANN
Paul G. Zimmermann of Eldred, NY and a longtime resident of the area, passed away at home on Sunday, December 5, 2010. He was 84.
The son of the late Peter Paul and Anna Louisa Grunwald Zimmermann, he was born in Manhattan on October 10, 1926. Paul was married to Lucille Lohner Zimmermann for 56 years.
After retirement from AT&T, he and his wife relocated to Eldred. Paul was a WWII Navy Veteran, having served on the USS Intrepid. He was commander of the Tusten Highland VFW Post #6427; councilman for the Town of Highland for the past 12 years; a president and treasurer of Lumberland AARP; and a member of St. Anns R.C Church, Shohola, PA. A family statement reads: Paul was much loved, well respected and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife; children Anne Zimmermann and fiancée Michael Muryn of Matamoras, PA, Jean Miterko and husband Robert of Wantagh, NY, Paul Zimmermann of Ridgewood, NY and Ruth Sorg and husband Walter of Wantagh, NY; grandchildren Brian, Katie, Andrew, Alyssa, Sean, Megan and Kristen; and dearest friend and relative Dr. Donald Lohner.
Paul is predeceased by a sister Winifred Zimmermann.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 9 from 9 to 9:30am at the Harrison-Rasmussen Funeral Home, 3412 Route 97, Barryville, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Anns R.C. Church. Rev. Thomas Major will officiate. Cremation will follow at Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
