Autumn landscape tour at Grey Towers

MILFORD, PA – The annual autumn landscape tour of Grey Towers National Historic Site, 122 Old Owego Turnpike, will take place on Saturday, October 23 at 1:30 p.m. “Evolution of the Grey Towers Landscape: Autumn in Cornelia’s Gardens,” will feature the foliage displays of the native shrubs, the Japanese maple, and the European copper beeches planted by Gifford Pinchot, among other favorites. Participants should meet in the visitor pavilion in the parking lot.

Pre-registration is suggested. Regular tour fees apply. Participants can tour the mansion for half price following the landscape tour with a special tour package price. Email greytowers@fs.fed.us or call 570/296-9630.

Halloween comes early

Halloween Dance

CALLICOON, NY—Darren Hendrickson, below, dressed up as Beetlejuice for one of Callicoon’s previous Halloween Dances. This year’s dance will be held at the Delaware Community Center on Saturday, October 23. Big Boss Sausage will keep everyone dancing from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight. There will be prizes for the best costumes. Bring your own refreshments.

A donation of $12 is requested, $10 for those who come in costume. You must be 21 to enter. Call 845/887-5839.

‘The Little Farm Show,’ complete with supper

HIGHLAND LAKE, NY—The NACL Theatre is taking early reservations to help it plan for its last show of the season, “The Little Farm Show,” on Sunday, November 7. The performance is for audiences of all ages and will take place at 3 p.m., followed by a farm supper prepared by a host of local chefs with produce from Willow Wisp Organic Farm and other local farms and friends.
