Artfest II: Artists against Gas Drilling
LAKE HUNTINGTON, NYDamascus Citizens for Sustainability (DCS) will hold its second ArtFest event on Sunday, September 26, from 2 to 6 p.m. at The Nutshell Arts Center, 6692 Route 52. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help DCS in its ongoing efforts to protect the Delaware River Basin Watershed from environmental hazards related to unregulated gas drilling in the Upper Delaware watershed.

Women Speak Out about gas drilling
NARROWSBURG, NYAn exhibition of photographs by Joyce Baronio and transcripts by Ellen Bay at the Delaware Arts Center, Women Speak Out, examines the perspectives of women landowners on the topic of natural gas extraction along the New York/Pennsylvania border. The show opens at the Loft Gallery at 37 Main St. on Friday, September 10, with an artists reception from 6 to 9 p.m. The exhibit will be on view through October 2.

Gasland in Manor
LIVINGSTON MANOR, NYFilmmaker Josh Foxs Gasland will be shown at the Livingston Manor Free Library on Friday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m. Fox embarked on a cross-country odyssey trying to uncover the truth about fracking after being asked to lease his land for gas drilling. Among his findings are a town in which residents are able to light their drinking water on fire. Call 845/439-5440.
