Lindsay Barrett George painting up for raffle

DEBRUCE, NY — This original painting by children’s book illustrator Lindsay Barrett George will be raffled off in DeBruce on Monday, September 6 at Books, Bubbles and Balloons, the DeBruce Labor Day Parade event (see Entertainment Briefs).

The unframed 22-by-13-inch signed painting of a pileated woodpecker was created in gouache, an opaque watercolor, for the now out-of-print book “Christmas at Long Pond,” written by William T. George and published in 1992.

Tickets will be on sale from 10 am to 3:00 pm at the site of the event, 21 Goff Road in DeBruce. Participants do not need to be present to win. Call 845/439-5440.
