MARY CAROLYN CONCKLIN
Mary Carolyn Concklin of Milford, PA, a longtime resident of the area, died Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. She was 89.
She was born December 26, 1920 in New York, NY, the daughter of the late Benjamin and the late Mary Carolyn Davies Dopf.
She was married for 62 years to the late Richard W. Concklin, who died February 14, 2005.
Mary was a member of the Milford Methodist Church, Milford, and a past board member of the Milford Town Green Property Owners Association.
A family statement reads, in part: Marys life was defined by her love of family. Mary and Dick had a loving marriage that lasted 62 years. Mary was a strong and determined woman who was able to stay independent and active right up to her last illness. She will be greatly missed by her large extended family, her church and her many friends.
Surviving are her sons Richard Concklin and wife Angela of Ridgewood, NJ and Wesley Concklin and wife Elaine of Houston, TX; daughters Diane Kroohs and husband Bill of Glen Spey, NY and Laura Stubblefield and husband James of Houston; sister-in-law Eleanor Dopf of Binghamton, NY; grandson Joshua Concklin and wife Heather of Oveido, FL and Brandon Stubblefield and wife Joyvic of Tomball, TX; granddaughters Michelle Concklin of Houston, Nancy Venkatesan and husband Sridharof Stony Point, NY, Sandra Dalles and husband Chad of Middlefield, CT and Kelly Stubblefield of Houston; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by brothers Robert and Benjamin Dopf.
A memorial service was held on Friday, August 20, 2010 in the Milford United Methodist Church, Milford, with Rev. Linda Hale officiating.

LILLIAN BUDDENHAGEN FRYKHOLM
Lillian Buddenhagen Frykholm died August 3, 2010 at the Avoca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Avoca, Iowa. She was 89.
Lillian was born October 29, 1920 in Callicoon, NY to Herman and Edna (Krantz) Buddenhagen.
She attended Buffalo State Teachers College and earned her Masters at Columbia University. She lived in Williston Park, NY while teaching in the Roslyn School District. She and husband Clarence retired to Sanford, NC and several years after Clarence passed on, Lillian relocated to Neola, IA.
She is survived by daughters Nancy Tornquist and husband Jack of Parker, CO and Carol Jensen and husband Dale of Neola; grandchildren Kyle Jensen and wife Jill, Ryan Jensen, Janel Tornquist Klintobe and husband Brandon, Jason Tornquist and wife Brittany; great-grandchildren; and nieces.
Lillian was predeceased by her brother, Harvey Buddenhagen of Callicoon, NY.
Lillian will be buried in Jeffersonville, NY. Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Neola, IA.
EDWARD GILLIGAN JR
Edward Gilligan Jr. of Narrowsburg, NY, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 20, 2010. He was 60.
The son of the late Edward and Mary Bosniak Gilligan, he was born December 11, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY.
Edward was a graduate of St. Johns University. He was a court officer for the Supreme Court System in Brooklyn and currently worked for the Sullivan County Court System.
He attended St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Yulan, NY. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Beaver Brook Rod and Gun Club and the U.S. Pilot Association.
He is survived by sisters Patricia Gilligan of California and Theresa McCarthy of Brooklyn; nephew Edward McCarthy and wife Deborah of Forked, NJ; one great-grandnephew and one great-grandniece.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 26 from 9:00 to 9:20 a.m. at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main Street, Narrowsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Yulan, NY. Father Anthony Moore O.F.M. will officiate. Christian Burial will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, Middle Village, NY.
TERESA CSENCSITS NIKLES
Teresa Nikles of Matamoras, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at St. Josephs Place, Port Jervis, NY. She was 89.
She was born April 28, 1921 in Northhampton, PA, a daughter of Stephen and Mary Ertl Csencsits. She was married to Edmund F. Nikles, who predeceased her on May 16, 1989. They co-owned and operated Nikles Tavern in Matamoras, PA from 1955 to 1972.
Mrs. Nikles was a communicant of St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church in Matamoras; a member of the Altar and Rosary Society; and active in the Matamoras Senior Citizens Association.
Surviving are son Edward Stephen Nikles and wife Beth Costello Nikles of Shohola, PA; and daughter Barbara Nikles Groh and husband Ronald Groh of Matamoras; grandchildren Edward Daniel Nikles and wife Denise McAllister Nikles of Milford, PA, Diane Julia Nikles Chudoba and husband, David Paul Chudoba of Milford, Brian Groh of Satellite Beach, FL and Christine Groh Powell and husband Robert Powell of Throop, PA; six great-grandchildren; and sisters Mary Csencsits Stolinas of Olyphant, PA and Rose Csencsits Toomey of Tarpon Springs, FL.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, 307 Avenue F, Matamoras, PA with Reverend August A. Ricciardi, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, PA, immediately following the service.

FRANCIS V. SWEENEY
Francis V. Sweeney of White Lake, NY and Sun City Center, FL, died on Friday, July 23, 2010.
He was the widower of Eileen, his wife of 59 years.
He was a retired mechanical engineer for AEP, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and an avid golfer who upholstered and caned furniture as a hobby. He was a member of the Sun City Center Community Assn. and worked on the Consumer Affairs Committee.
He is survived by children Diane Garry of Forestburgh, NY, Patricia Bak and husband Joe of Connecticut and Frank Sweeney and wife Sabrina of Florida; grandchildren Erin, Meghan, and John Garry and Jameson and Andrew Bak; and two step-grandchildren, Chase and Max.
Memorial services and burial of ashes took place at Evergreen Cemetery, Bethel, NY on Saturday, August 21, at 11:30 a.m.

DORIS BLAIS VESELY
Doris Blais Vesely of Hartwick, NY, formerly of Bethel, NY went home to the Lord on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Otsego Manor in Cooperstown, NY. She was 84.
The daughter of the late Fred and Theodora Reynolds Grant, she was born February 24, 1926 in Bethel.
Doris loved her family and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Frederick Vesely of Hartwick; sons Robert Blais and wife Linda and Jay Blais and wife Sherri, all of Bethel; daughter Linda Citro Gorton and husband Forrest of Jeffersonville, NY; grandchildren Christina Meckle and husband Lewis, Timothy Blais and wife Ellen, Chris Blais and wife Adrienne, Jamie Blais and wife Jackie, Mike Green and fiancée Ashley Simmons, Anthony Citro and wife Jennifer, Angela Citro and fiancé Brandon Selleck, Craig Gorton and wife Mercedes and Deana Gorton; two stepchildren, Rick Veseley and wife Roberta and Mike Vesely and wife Colleen; six great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Frank Fulton of Kenoza Lake, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Joseph Blais; and sisters Helen Oles, Marion VanKeuren, Eleanor Fulton and Irma Fulton.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 20 at Ramsays Funeral Home, Kauneonga Lake, with the Rev. David Coon officiating.
Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel, NY.
MARGUERITE WARD
Marguerite Pat Ward of Port Jervis, NY passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at St. Josephs Place in Port Jervis. She was 82.
Born October 11, 1927 in the Bronx, Pat was the daughter of the late Edward and Rose Lessman Murphy.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Colella and husband Anthony of Ramsey, NJ; three sons, Edward Burkart and wife Denise of Jeffersonville, NY, Kevin Ward and wife Mary of Wappingers Falls, NY and John Ward and wife Hilary of Washington; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Prayers were offered Sunday, August 22 at Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., Port Jervis, with Rev. Vincent Odikanoro officiating.
Interment took place on Monday, August 23, at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
