NARROWSBURG, NYThe Tusten-Cochecton branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library has developed a collection of books highlighting green living, sustainable practices and self-reliance. The collection was pulled together in late spring by branch manager Penelope Morgan-Lohr.
Morgan-Lohr says she hopes to supply the community with basic through advanced knowledge about sustainable living practices like making your own cheese or eco-friendly house cleaning (both found in the Back to Basics series). Increasing knowledge that will strengthen skills related to self-sufficiency is one aim. Hopefully, Morgan-Lohr says, these books will help community members learn how to use less, purchase less and make more.
