RiverFest celebrates 20 years
NARROWSBURG, NY Shoshana, a rescued Brazilian mastiff dressed as a dainty ballerina, heads for the Delaware Valley Arts Alliances (DVAA) 20th annual RiverFest where she claimed Best in Show, topping nearly 20 canine competitors during the popular River Dogs on Parade, which kicks off the yearly arts event. New York State Senator John Bonacic greeted festival-goers. Crowds thronged Main Street, where artists, authors and food vendors shared their offerings. Environmental organizations provided information, while musicians, stilt walkers from NACL and belly dancers from Dancers of the Dawn entertained all. Despite the onset of rain, the highlight of the day remained the poster auction, where 55 posters generated $8,810 in support of the DVAA. Receiving the top bid of $650 was Our 2nd Home by George Boudman. Visit www.artsalliancesite.org to learn more about DVAA.
